Yes, I'm commenting on the calendar post - and about the site as well. Very cool indeed. I was actually searching for the Dames calendar (since I cannot view their site from work) and I ended up here. I've not been yet - just heard about it - but now, I'm definitely "excited" about going. ;-p Any words of wisdom for a "Burlesque virgin"?

BTW, my favorite shot is of Karla (3/17). Amazing closeup.

Hiya, Mayretta Dave!
The next big Dames Aflame show is Friday May 18th at the Laughing Skull Lounge in the Vortex Midtown (878 Peachtree Street btw 7th and 8th). There are two shows: 8:30pm and 11pm. General Admission is $25 and limited VIP seating is also available. Tickets are going quick, so you might want to purchase in advance at www.xorbia.com/tickets (I've just been told that the VIP section for the 8:30 show is now sold out, but there are still some VIP tables open for the 11pm show). If you can't access www.damesaflame.com, you can read more about the show at www.thevortexbarandgrill.com (click on the Laughing Skull Lounge link at the bottom of the Vortex home page). Future Dames Aflame dates at the Laughing Skull Lounge are June 15th and July 13th. I'm just a monkeygirl, but my advice to a "Burlesque Virgin" such as yourself is to check out all the different burlesque groups that you can find and you'll see a wide variety of styles. There is no shortage of great and varied burlesque performance to enjoy in the Atlanta area. And you've stumbled on a great resource for learning about burlesque in the ATL. Mr. Turnley's lens is an enriching portal for us all.
'Nanners to ya~
